Treeless

This morning, the tree service people arrived and started working on chopping down our unstable ash tree.

It was a great relief that nothing untoward occurred before they were able to bring it down.

And...there goes the rest of the tree...

Here is the stump grinder hard at work.

And if you have visited our house, or better yet, helped us move some of our wood and thought we had a lot of wood before, take a gander at our new supply of firewood!

It's insane!

And the wood is so heavy and wet. You can see water and sap draining from the cut pieces down my driveway.

And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but our old friends, Mr. Termites...hard at work within the tree. Apparently, termites are everywhere. Time to go back to the store for a few gallons of insecticides.

So, this is what our house used to look like...isn't it picturesque and pleasant?

Here is what our house looks like now...isn't it barren and sterile? *sigh* Time to go pick out a new tree.

Boy, is it going to be a hot summer. At least we don't have the danger of the tree hanging over us anymore...well, except for the bill!

yay! Now you don't have to worry about what danger it may cause. What kind of trees are you going to get now?

I am glad you told me about your blog! I feel bad for all the trouble you've had since you moved into your house. Thankfully, the tree is out and you are in our ward!
