Yesterday, we did day one of moving in earnest. Because we have no water or electricity to clean the inside of the house, we decided to concentrate mainly on moving the outside stuff. And you wouldn't believe how much stuff we have to move just on the outside of our house. We've been collecting wood over the years mainly for our fire pit/bbq and the mudbrick oven (which we never finished and had to disassemble). Christian's Dad and brother both came up with chainsaws. And they cut logs all morning and afternoon. I wanted to get pictures of them cutting the logs and the two huge truckloads we took to the house, but I was helping load the truck and was too distracted to remember to take pictures. And we aren't talking about loading Christian's little pick up truck, we were loading Christian's dad's full size pick up. That was a lot of wood. And believe it or not, we aren't done yet. We probably have one more small load. But as everyone was exhausted, we called it a day by the late afternoon. Our friend Marian also came out to help (after working a 71 hour work week).
Next, our friends, Dan and Seth came by in the evening to help us move the piano and sofa. We tried to move it on our own with the help of our friend Marian, but it wasn't going to happen.
And man, am I sore today!
